Final eating out of the day, Alaskan Bombe from Bathers Pavillion, here's my description of what it was ... ice cream/ sorbet (it was 3-4 flavours) covered in meringue w mixed berries & mini macaroons. The portion is quite generous, it can be shared for 2-3 people. Sweetness level is acceptable.

FRIDAY Lunch 20/03/09
Here's my very happy & unproductive Friday at work.
Just came back from lunch @ work's new office where we are equipped with inhouse caterer.
Surprisingly fantastic, beyond my expectations since my workplace is tightening their green bunker. I had 3 course meal w 3 glasses of white wine & do I have to work afterwards ? Fat hope.

TDF Tiramisu
I discovered this TDF tiramisu about 10 years ago thanks to the Sunday paper. The review was around Italian bakeries in Sydney, emphasising heavily on Sulfaro's TDF tiramisu.
To make my curiosity going obsolete, I did my little adventure back then, bought a slice of tiramisu on a 45 min return journey, and less than 5 mins to make if vanish from the box.
It's been a loyal 10 years, always buy the same stuff everytime I visit this shop & it is still the same tiramisu taste & texture as 10 years ago. Nothing appealing about the shop itself, basic decor, basic service -- no self service here -- you have to order your request on the counter, basic cake packaging. They can categorise themself into "Great Taste & No other effort required". I agree, I don't need them to do any marketing effort, I need them to keep this tiramisu consistent.

Cafe Sydney
Dinner @ Cafe Sydney - WED 25/02/08
Ground floor, see through glass floor, with Sydney's 3D map underneath.
Appetizer - Scallop w anchovies, tomato salsa, pancetta and baby leaves
I tried to convince myself to order non scallop dish for appetizer... not enough temptations I guess. Stick to my all time fave .. scallop. Great presentation, nicely cooked scallops (not rubbery for sure), yummy, yummy and yummy.
Friend's Appetizer - Moreton bay bug w lemon aioli and ocean trout roe classic salad
Equally yummmy, fresh bay bug w TDF aioli. I still prefer scallop though.
Main - Prawn w spinach gnocchi, green peas, asparagus and fennel cream
The right portion for main, crunchy prawns & beautiful gnocchi (without the doughy texture).
Dessert - Grand Marnier parfait w sesame waffle, fresh fig & orange
Melt in your mouth .... light, fresh with a little tangy kick.
Cafe Sydney view @ 8pm
